When you contact a listing agent, we send your name, contact details and message to that listing agent or brokerage, and to no one else.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
Explore Your Area does not ask for an address or field location. What you type is used for that lookup only and is not stored.

Information we collect

Information you give us

Inquiries to listing agents: name, email, optional phone, your message, optional questions you tick, and optional requested showing times.
Contact, listing report and resource suggestion forms: what you type, and an email address if you give one.
Staff accounts: editors and administrators have accounts; visitors do not.

Information stored on your device

Saved properties and recently viewed properties are kept in your browser's local storage on your device. We do not receive that list.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider records standard request information (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security and reliability. For rate limiting and spam protection we keep a one-way pseudonym of the IP address, not the address itself.

How we use information

To deliver your inquiry to the listing representative, confirm it to you, prevent spam and duplicate submissions, respond to messages and reports, review resource suggestions, keep the site secure, and meet legal obligations.

With listing agents and brokerages

An inquiry goes to the listing agent shown on the property page, or to the listing brokerage if the agent has no email on file. You see the recipient before you send.

With service providers

We use providers for hosting, databases and email delivery, under agreements that limit their use of the data to providing those services.

Map tiles

When you open a map, your browser requests map tiles from the map tile provider, which receives standard request information.

Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and others.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
